Macbook pro itunes xml supersync7/4/2023 ![]() Previously this has been easy to achieve in iTunes by selecting tracks, using Get Info., and then clicking OK. Use to update iTunes after modifying tags with 3rd party tools. If you want to update lots of songs (eq update iTunes Library with the tag info) in iTunes there are easy ways.įorces iTunes to compare each file's tag with iTunes own record and updates iTunes if necessary. I at most add 1-2 tracks at a time in iTunes (as it's becoming very hard to add Songs I like to my Library (but that is another matter ) so Get Info is easy, I am really trying not to use Get Info everytime I import new music, its very manual and I am quite an audio file not to mention there are some well known bugs that It could be that your problem is because that "SuperSync" program doesn't update the Album Art but only the Song Database, but that is just guessing as I don't use a 3rd Party program to manage my Library (only the tags   ) X:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\Artist Name\Album Name\1-01 Song Name.m4a When done, right Click on the Song, and select Open the Song with iTunes so it's added to the iTunes Database.Īgain I press Get Info and check if everything I entered it correct and also again check if the Artwork is correct and also if it's location is Correct Start editing the Tags with Mp3tag and import Cover Art (Why see above where I wrote about Empty Dirs with only Cover Art) When done, go to iTunes press Get Info and let iTunes update it's Song Database and I also make sure that the Artwork has changed (make sure that (if you have changed for example Artist name or Album name) that after going to iTunes and press GET INFO that you have removed the cover art from that Directory. ![]() Start editing the Tags with Mp3tag (and maybe import new Cover Art) (in the original Location) When I buy a New M4a from iTunes Store, I copy that file to an external Drive (Backup) Also a good thing to do it this way because NOW every time you plav a song it doesn't have to export the Cover Art and display it, it NOW just reads it out of it's cache IMHO a waste of space, but that's iTunes for you as the Covers are also located in the Music Files themselves but that is the way iTunes handles stuff. Only My iTunes Cache directory is (at the moment) 2.95 Gb because there all the covers are located (have a look and you will find a lot of itc2 files in there). The Location where iTunes reads it's ALBUM ARTWORK from is the Directory iTunes\Album Artwork\ Locationfile://localhost/X:/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/XXXXXX/XXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXX.m4a These 2 files (*.itl and *.xml) in your iTunes Music directory are the Song / Movie etc Database files, and only contain info about "Artist, Song, when was the song last played, location, etc etc etc" BUT ALBUM ARTWORK is NOT Stored in these database Files !!Įxample out of the Itunes Library.xml xxxxx It could be that your problem is because that "SuperSync" program doesn't update the Album Art but only the Song Database, but that is just guessing as I don't use a 3rd Party program to manage my Library (only the tags ) I also tag my Music Files exclusively with Mp3tag and also embed the Album Art with it (size preferably > 1000x1000) but I let iTunes manage my Music Library, and then it's synced to 2 iPhones and 1 iPod and no problem showing the artwork in either iTunes itself or the iPhones or iPod.Įdit: iTunes doesn't do anything with the Folder.jpg in the folder it will only disturb the way iTunes handles folders and you could end up with lots of directories with no Music in it (changed for example Artist name) but only have a Folder.jpg. In terms of the extra folders comment this is why I don't let iTunes manage my library. The embedded art does appear as Front Cover yes.The Cache in fact is not updating but why would it use the cache for only the artist image when the image is present in all of the other areas. I think the issue may be that apple is now populating artist image from its own DB rather than the embedded images and my missing image may be due to those artists/album combinations not being in their db but this is a hunch.Supersync (it updates the itunes xml in place of the itunes). Thanks my friend, I will try my best and before I begin I wanted to post something that may be helpful on a reddit board. 1- Which program do you use to manage your library ?Ģ- Does the \iTunes\Album Artwork\Cache\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\ directory get updated when you add or change Album Art? This is the place where iTunes stores it's Album Art which you have added to the Music Files (itc2 files)ģ- Does the embedded Cover Art in Mp3tag show as Front Cover ?Ĥ- For Mp3's which tag version do you tag them with ? Id3v1, Id3V2.3 etc etc
